Indoor climate-controlled units

Indoor units sit inside the main building, behind the gate and a second door, and are air-conditioned. Phuket's humidity is the real enemy of anything stored long term — it is what ruins leather, electronics, guitars, documents and clothing, far more often than dust or damage. If what you are storing would be unhappy in an unventilated Thai garage, it belongs indoors.

The indoor range runs from a small locker sized for a season of clothes, a few boxes of paperwork and a couple of suitcases, through medium rooms that comfortably take a studio or one-bedroom apartment's contents, up to large and extra-large rooms that hold a full family home, a small shop's stock, or a business's archive and equipment.

Drive-up units

Drive-up units open straight onto the roadway, so you can reverse a pickup or a van to the door and unload without carrying anything through a corridor. They are the practical choice for furniture, tools, building materials, restaurant and villa equipment, tyres, dive gear, market stock and anything heavy or awkward.

The drive-up range starts with a small unit suited to a motorbike, a few pallets or a villa's off-season furniture, and goes up to large units that take the contents of a whole house or a small business. One drive-up size is also humidity-controlled for customers who want vehicle-height access without giving up climate protection.

How to choose without guessing

• Count in rooms, not square metres. One studio's worth of furniture, one villa's worth, one shop's stock — that is how our size guide is written.
• Stack vertically. Our units are tall; most people rent one size larger than they need because they picture a single layer on the floor.
• Leave a walkway if you will visit often. If it is deep storage you will not open for six months, pack it solid.
• Store seasonal and humidity-sensitive items indoors; store heavy, bulky and vehicle-loaded items drive-up.
• If you are between two sizes, book the smaller one. Moving up later is free and takes minutes — you are not locked in.
